Fake, fake, fake!
I hate these pictures.
There are no scenes like that in nature.
So much photoshopping to enhance detail, saturate colors, increase the dynamic range and unblur the distant objects.
The overall effect in plain old Kitsch.

I'd be more impressed with the above pictures if they hadn't been edited so far as to look computer generated. Reality does not allow you to focus on everything all at once, fact of physics

I'm so sick of everyone screaming that something has been shopped. I had a great photo capture recently of my dad's reaction when his paper plane flew the entire yard and came back to him. His facial expression was priceless. (His paper airplane was hovering in the foreground) I expected the same reaction so I didn't bother to post it.
I then played with a picture I had taken of the Edmonds ferry and added more saturation of the colored lights. The photo looked nice, but it left me feeling empty because I had altered it. The fun of photography is taking countless photos and then hitting the jackpot with one that is outstanding.
Some photos really do come out amazing, but with the ability to alter them, everyone assumes that is what has been done.

Hey your website reminds me of something... http://www.webdesignerwall.com/ perhaps? Hm... you know if you can't be original in the design of your website, there are plenty of free templates out there that look great, you don't have to resort to stealing someone else's design. And webdesignerwall.com is pretty popular, so trust me people are going to notice.

Great pictures, but picture 7 is not a natural phenomenon as the river channel is too straight and is probably man made.

The fourth picture, of the steep cliff and the sun setting over the ocean is great. I've been on the Great Ocean Road in Australia, and here depicted are a few of the 12 apostles, truly amazing creations by the differences in sandstone and limestone after hundreds of thousands of years of abuse from the sea.

I have just read some of the comments made about the photography, looking back yes I dare say some have been ,so to speak enhanced. But still an awesome perspective, both on mother nature and also the knowledge to be able to put it all together and having a result as this...well done!!!

As in science, one should always publish all data relevant to an experiment, so that fellow scientists can repeat the experiment to check, if it the result is true or not. So, would it be possible eg to publish the exact location of each picture ? I would like to go and see for myself if the scenery really looks like the one depicted in the photographs. Method of doubt...

Just because a photo is properly exposed doesn't mean it's HDR idiots. Many of these scenes can be accomplished by shooting RAW and manipulating Fill Light.

The world is beautiful!. So are the pictures. The digital finishing of the photographs is a matter of taste. Personally, I like it a bit more surprising and realistic but that is not important.. Happy 2011 to everyone and let's respect nature (and other people)..

This is totally directed at killjoy. Your name is so fitting. You obviously have a vision impairment and a serious lack of actual knowledge of the real world looks like. If you actually decide to get off your ass one day and go somewhere, you will find that photo shop doesn't even come close. So don't be an asshole and enjoy the photos of places your lazy ass will never see.

I think the high contrast is a bit distasteful. Not that I think they are terrible, but why all the alteration? I think that it's generally considered unsavory to use high contrast as your staple.

ps - In response to Adam claming that there is no waterfall at the 12 Apostles, you clearly haven't been after a torrential storm. Just because it's not normally there doesn't mean it's fake.

This is a wonderful collection. There are clearly different styles and levels of manipulation... Some better than others, and for different reasons. Photography is a wonderful creative outlet, no right or wrong!
But, photographers should be credited properly for their creation - the photograph.
